Uniform and equipment costs
As well as the annual registration fee there will also be uniform and equipment costs.
The uniform identifies who we are and marks us as members of the International Scouting Movement. Members are required to wear the uniform on different occasions, for example, weekly meetings, travel to and from events such as camps, Group events such as Founders Day and on other occasions where their leaders require it.
The neckerchief is the most distinctive part of the scout’s uniform and identifies the group they belong to. 10th Dublin (Kilternan) has a grey neckerchief with a red border. The neckerchief must be worn at all times by invested members. This is a requirement for insurance purposes and scouts without their neckerchief may be refused permission to participate in any scouting activity.
The uniforms for the various sections are available from The Scout Shop in Liffey Street, or Killarney Road in Bray, or via their website at www.thescoutshop.ie
Other uniform and equipment will be needed depending on age and section. Click on the section link to see a breakdown of the items and costs.
